KATHMANDU, April 15: The Manakamana Cable Car on Friday received 10,000 visitors in a single day. This is the highest number of passengers since COVID-19 pandemic.

Executive Director of the company, Rajesh Babu Shrestha, said that the most number of passengers have arrived on Friday since the COVID-19 and mentioned that the excitement has increased in Nepali New year. “Before COVID-19, the maximum number of 10,800 people rode Mankamana Cable Car. New Year's Day itself has added excitement. This is possible because of domestic tourists,” he said.
According to him, 750,000 passengers had boarded Manakamana Cable Car till March. Earlier, the company upgraded this cable car from analog to digital system. The cable car's tower, gondola, bullwheel and other equipment are still the same, and this cable car is Nepal's first cable car with a digital connect system.
