PANCHTHAR, Jan 7: A man who had escaped after murdering his wife was found dead. Dhan Kumar Ubharkoti, 32, a resident of Subhang in Hilihang-5 of the district was found hanging from a tree in the jungle some three kilometers east of his house.
Ubharkoti had been on the run since murdering his wife on December 24. He has been charged of killing his 30-year-old wife Durga Devi by striking her with an axe in her head. Locals informed police after they saw Ubharkoti hanging dead from on a tree using a plastic rope on Wednesday, according to the District Police Office, Paanchthar.
The body was found in a decomposed state and locals suspected that he may have committed suicide a week ago. Further investigation into the incident is underway, after a post-mortem was carried out at the district hospital.
