KATHMANDU, June 3: Nepal Police have caught a man who was imposed a fine of Rs 1.65 million by the Patan High Court.
51-year-old Indrakumar Rai, who was sentenced to four days in prison and imposed a fine of Rs 1.65 million as per a verdict by the Patan High Court on April 18th, 2022, was arrested today by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police. Rai has a house in Khotang Haleshi but was temporarily living in Thimi, Bhaktapur.
The spokesperson for the CIB, Superintendent of Police Shyam Kumar Mahato said that the police arrested Rai from Chahabil today in adherence to the orders given by the high court after the court ruled Rai guilty of conducting a fraud by giving checks of the Global IME Bhaktapur Branch that did not have sufficient balance during Jan-Feb 2021. Spokesperson Mahato said that the arrested Rai was produced in the court today for the execution of the verdict.
