BARA, March 9: Police on Sunday made public a man accused in the murder of journalist Birendra Sah, who was abducted and killed 12 years ago.
The accused, Narendra Phaujdar aka Kundan Phaujdar, was arrested from his home at Gadhal area in Baragadhi rural municipality-6 at 2 am Sunday, according to the District Police Office Bara.
Police had fired shots in the air to arrest him after the locals stood in the way, Superintendent of Police Krishna Pangeni said.

Sah, a local reporter of Avenues Television, was abducted by Maoists on October 7, 2007 when he was heading toward Pipara from Kalaiya of the district. Some 34 days after the incident, his body was found buried in the nearby Tangiya forest area.
Later it was reported that the then district leaders of the Maoist party Hareram Patel, Lal Bahadur Chaudhary, Ramabal Sahahi, Narendra Phaujdar and Mainejar Giri were involved in the killing. Giri was arrested and released after serving a jail term. One of the murder convicts Sahani is currently serving jail term while two other convicts Patel and Chaudhary are still at large.
