Mahato, Lekhi declare party unification

KATHMANDU, April 18: Sadbhavana Party led by Rajendra Mahato and Nagarik Samajbadi Party led by Raj Kumar Lekhi declared unification on Tuesday.

Issuing a 10-point agreement between Mahato and Lekhi amidst a program in the capital, the two parties declared unification. The unified party would also be called Sadbhavana Party and it will use all the party symbols of Sadbhavana Party.

However, Lekhi and other officials of the party have not been administered at any post and ranking after the unification. 

Lekhi, who started politics from CPN-UML, was Chairman of Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities once.

Following the unification, the two leaders said that the unified party would give continuity to a struggle for the right of Tharu, Madhesi and other indigenous community.

Chairperson of Sadhbhavan Party Rajendra Mahato said that the Madheshis are not against the election but he denied of participating in the election in the current situation. 

He reiterated that the election is not possible until the constitution amendment bill with the delineation of the state is not passed from the Legislature-Parliament.
