KATHMANDU, Dec 18: Chairman of the Sadbhawana Party, Rajendra Mahato, has said that his party would play a positive role to pass the constitution amendment bill with revision.

At an interaction organized by the Reporters' Club Nepal here Sunday, Chairman Mahato demanded that the amendment bill should be forwarded with revision, stressing the need of institutionalizing the politician achievements.

Obstruction of the parliament proceeding by the CPN (UML) was against democratic values and parliamentary norms, he argued.

According to him, protesting at parliament is normal, but not allowing discussion on the registered bill is almost undemocratic.

Chairman Mahato urged the CPN-UML to support the amendment bill as the UML is a responsible party.

Moreover, he said they have reached close to consensus on various issues except delineation and would move ahead as per the report of the Delineation Commission.

Leader Mahato, however, said that local poll could be held as per old structure even after constitution amendment. RSS
