The film, according to director Thapa, is a product of hardwork put in by all the cast and crew. Released in Kathmandu on October 25, Madhumas is slated for release in other parts of Nepal on November 1. [break]
“We wanted to release Madhumas all over Nepal on the same day but we had to release it in Kathmandu a bit earlier because we didn’t want it to suffer at the hands of some ‘awaited’ Bollywood movie. It’s really unfortunate that we have to compete with Hindi movies in the sense that no multiplex will readily screen a Nepali movie whenever a Bollywood film is released,” complained Thapa, who is also one of the producers of the film.
Madhumas is a story of a loving married couple, Prem and Aagya, played by Aaryan Sigdell and Pooja Sharma respectively, whose life takes a different turn right on their anniversary as people from their long-forgotten past, Raghav and Rosy (Manoj RC and Siwangini Rana respectively) show up, creating a total havoc in their lives.
