KATHMANDU, August 1: The government has appointed Madhu Kumar Marasini as the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance.
Transferring Finance Secretary Sishir Kumar Dhungana to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, a Cabinet meeting last Friday picked Marasini for the position. Prior to this, Marasini had been serving as the Financial Comptroller General.
On July 5, 2017, Marasini was appointed Nepal’s Consul General in New York, USA. But the KP Oli-led government, scrapping the position in New York permanently in 2018, recalled Marasini immediately.
Marasini is a Master’s Degree graduate in International Economics and Public Administration. He holds an experience of working at the Ministry of Finance for over two decades.
