RAUTAHAT, July 30: Madhesh Province’s Minister for Home, Communications and Law, Fakira Mahato, has expressed serious concern over the recent incidents of communal tension, violence and unrest reported from various parts of the province, urging all communities to maintain peace, restraint and social harmony.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Mahato appealed to the public not to give any incident a religious or communal dimension, spread rumours, or circulate misleading information through social media that could further divide society.

He said the provincial government has already instructed security agencies to ensure law and order and is closely monitoring the evolving situation. He warned that anyone involved in violence, vandalism, arson, incitement of hatred or activities that disrupt public peace would face strict legal action.
The minister also called on religious leaders, intellectuals, elected representatives, civil society members, teachers, students, media organisations and political parties to play an active role in preserving social harmony and preventing further escalation of tensions.
