Madhes-based parties have put people in confusion: UML Chair

KATHMANDU, April 7: CPN (UML) chairman KP Sharma Oli has alleged the Madhes-basedc parties of confusing the Madhesi people.

Addressing the 29th anniversary function of the Rastriya Janasanskritik Mahasangh (the national people's cultural federation) and award presentation ceremony here today, he said,

"The Madhes-centric parties have been creating confusion by talking about nonsensical things among the people of the Madhes instead of supporting the holding of three tiers election for bailing the country out of the transition.'

The chairman of the main opposition party said although attempts were being made by various quarters to push the country to an adverse situation, UML would not allow them to succeed.

Stating that there is no reason why the country should be under poverty, he said this had happened because of some persons.

"The current challenges are not easily solvable like those in the past. One should not make a slight mistake as in the past. It is high time to increase the momentum for nation's development," the former PM said.

At the programme Chairman Oli handed the Jana Sanskritik Award – 2073BS carrying a purse of Rs 25 thousand to culture expert Shankar Pokharel (Morang) and the Jana Sanskritik Yuva Pratibha (youth talent) Award carrying a purse of Rs 15 thousand to youth theatre artiste Rabi Karki (Myagdi). RSS
