KATHMANDU, August 3: Senior leader of CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal along with leaders close to him have reached Chandragiri Hills Resort in Kathmandu.

Sources close to Nepal, who has filed application at the Election Commission (EC) to register a new political party, said the leaders are scheduled hold discussions on the future course of action including agenda of the proposed CPN (Unified Socialist) party. The leaders include both Central Committee and Parliamentary Party Committee members of the UML.

Sources said the leaders are expected to hold discussions on "People's Multi-party Socialism' in view of the changed political and socio-economic context in the country. After holding discussion on range of issues on Tuesday, the leaders are scheduled to directly visit the EC for the verification of members of the proposed Central Committee of the party.

The EC has invited all the leaders proposed in the party's committees for verification on Wednesday. Senior leader Nepal had decided to form a new political after Chairman K P Oli did not give any heed to meet the demands put forth by his faction.

The move of senior leader Nepal to form a new political came shortly after Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba introduced an ordinance that made it easy to form a new political party. New political party can be formed if a leader in any party is able to garner support of 20 percent central committee members or parliamentary party members.
