KATHMANDU, Jan 13: The under-construction Lumbini Cable Car in Butwal, Rupandehi to Basantpur, Palpa district will be operational from mid-February.
Presenting the report of the board of directors at the company's 19th annual general meeting held in Kathmandu on Friday, Lumbini Cable Car Pvt Ltd Chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal said that the civil construction work of the cable car towers has almost been completed and will be operational from February.
"The civil construction work of the cable car towers has been completed. Similarly, the civil construction work of the temple area at the top station is also progressing at a fast pace,” he said.
Dakal said that the work of importing all the gondolas and equipment of the cable car from abroad has been completed. The connection work of seven out of nine towers has been completed and the connection work of the remaining two towers has also reached the final stage.
Likewise, the installation work of cable car equipment has been completed at the top station, while the installation work of cable car equipment at the bottom station has progressed, he said.
Dhakal also said that the construction and installation of all electromechanical works is progressing rapidly. The construction work of this cable car project started in the month of January 2022.
