KATHMANDU, March 23: A meeting of the executive committee of the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) is being held today to discuss the current political situation.
A leader of the LSP, Sharat Singh Bhandari said that the meeting will be held today at 1PM. According to him, the meeting will discuss the current political issues including participation in the government, and the by-elections to be held on April 23.
While Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is preparing to expand the Cabinet, LSP is also willing to join the government. An LSP leader said that the party will also participate in the government if there is a ‘dignified’ distribution of the ministries.
The by-elections to be held in Bara-2, Chitwan-2 and Tanahun-1 will also be discussed in the meeting. LSP, which has shown more interest in Bara-2, wants to make Nawal Kishore Singh a candidate from the constituency. But Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Chairman Upendra Yadav is trying to become a candidate from the ruling coalition from Bara-2.
JSP's Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, who was elected to the House of Representatives from Bara-2, was elected the vice president, and by-elections are being held in the constituency.
Similarly, Ram Chandra Paudel of Nepali Congress who was elected from Tanahun-1 was elected to the post of President and Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of RSP who was elected from Chitwan-2, was dismissed from the post of MP due to his citizenship dispute.
