KATHMANDU, Sept 23: Lotus Mindfulness and Relaxation Services organized ‘Sound of Peace’, a sound healing event at Geeta Mandir, Swoyambhu on the occasion of International Peace Day.

The organizer hosted its 3rd International Peace Day to spread the message that world peace starts with inner peace and that sound can help us as a guide to attain people’s calmness. Chief guest of the event was Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal Himalee Arunatilaka. The event encouraged the participants to choose love, peace, and compassion over rage, hate, and envy.

According to the organizer, more than 70 youths, volunteers, and guests gathered to celebrate the day. In the event, there was yoga followed by sound healing by 10 sound healers. Instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, bells, didgeridoo, hand pan, and kalimba were played. Candle-lighting meditation was also held to reflect the light of hope in the darkness.

In the event, Founder of Lotus, Arvind Shakya, emphasized the power of daily meditation and sound healing in finding inner peace. He also added that Lotus, since its inception, has been organizing various events and sessions at Lotus, Thamel to raise awareness about the significance of mindfulness in daily lives.
