BHAKTAPUR, Aug 21: The District Administration Offices (DAOs) of three districts in the Kathmandu Valley --- Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur--- have enforced week-long prohibitory orders starting Wednesday midnight in a bid to curtail the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Taumadhi, Nasmana, Pottery Square, Sukul Dhoka, Golmadhi, Inacho, Dattatreya Temple areas in Bhaktapur wore a deserted look on the second day of the prohibitory orders. The streets were empty, shops were closed and very few people came out of their houses only for emergency purposes.
Police are taking strict actions to control the unessential movement of the people. Those who were found breaching the order were held and made to stand in the street. They were also counselled about the safety precautions against COVID-19.
