For the first time, Eastern Nepal is welcoming a rap battle, where the rappers from the Eastern cities and rural areas will take part.

Purbeli HipHop Foundation is organizing this event. The event company has been organizing hip-hop events for years in Nepal. But for the first time, the foundation is organizing a rap battle ‘Local Rhymes’ in the eastern side, says Rapper Bidesh Karki aka Kavi G, member of Purbeli HipHop Foundation.

According to Kavi G, the ‘Local Rhymes’ battle is the brainchild of Rapper Professor Trix. Professor Trix took part in Raw Barz Rap Battle Season 4 in 2017. He recently released ‘Hinda’ under Aeronic Production. Kavi G shared, “Rap Battling has become normal thing that everyone does. They use rhymes and poems, similar to rap battling for fun in everyday life. And looking at the popularity of this in the east, we are organizing this event with an aim to promote hip-hop all over Nepal.”

Being the first rap battle in Eastern Nepal, the rap battles are only having battle between men rappers. However, as per statement made by Kavi G, they will have female rappers battling too if the first season goes well. “In a long run, if Local Rhymes works out, we’ll have female rappers too.”

Local Rhymes is also a pocket money event of members of Purbeli HipHop Foundation. Kavi G adds, “We don’t have sponsors so whole event’s expenditure is upon us. Hope this event works out.”

The main event is having the battle between Cyruss and Bhaktey at Boomerang Kitchen Lounge Bar, Dharan on Saturday. They both were in ‘RawBarz Rap Battle Season 4’. The event will have total five battles and will also feature Professor Trix, Kavi G and Ease. So, if you’re a hip-hop enthusiast and are from the eastern part of Nepal, ‘Local Rhymes’ is worth going rap battle.
