ILAM, April 19: Political parties and civil society leaders in the district have warned that it would be unacceptable to them if the local-level election scheduled for May 14 has been postponed under any pretext.
District leaders, cadres and leaders of sister organizations have warned that they would protest against their own parties if the local-level poll were postponed.
Leaders and cadres of the major parties – Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Center) – have been maintaining that they would not allow the government to defer the polls.
They have urged the top leaders of the major political parties not to seek an alternative to the scheduled polls.
