Local administration provides risk allowance to police personnel working in the frontline during pandemic

ROLPA, July 12: The local administration in Rolpa district has decided to provide risk allowances to police officers deployed in the district for the prevention and control of COVID-19 pandemic.  

The Rural Municipality made the decision to boost the morale of the security personnel who have been working on the frontlines against the deadly virus for the safety of the local citizens.

According to Nimkanta Dagi, Chairperson of the Paribartan Rural Municipality, “We have decided to provide Rs 5000 each to police officers working on the frontlines to control COVID-19 and the security of quarantine centers as an incentive to boost their morale and thank them for their work.”

The Rural Municipality has made the decision to boost the morale of the police officers, Deputy Superintendent of Police Naresh Raj Subedi informed Republica. “It is a positive decision to encourage police officers, who have been working in the frontline to control the pandemic for so long,” Subedi said. “The decision from the rural municipality is likely to send a positive message to other local administrations as well,” he added.

According to Subedi, the police officers of Rolpa district have played a major role in raising awareness about COVID-19, implementing the prohibitory order, helping the stranded people to get back to their home, providing security to isolation centers, ensuring management of the dead corpses and many other works related to COVID-19 pandemic. 

Police personnel working in the district are happy with the decision of the local administration to recognize their work and provide incentives. “We feel that our work has been recognized and appreciated properly,” said a police constable. “This has motivated us to work even harder.”
