KATHMANDU, Sept 21: Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) has requested the residents of the metropolis to remove all structures built against the standards within 35 days and make necessary improvements within the metropolitan area.

Issuing a notice, the LMC said that structures built without approving the design, structures built against the standards or by encroaching upon public land, roads, sidewalks, intersections, squares etc and other structures built by encroaching upon the slopes, tops, ramps, stairs, etc should be removed within 35 days. Similarly, the LMC has requested the people to remove structures used for construction purposes by encroaching upon public land in the metropolitan area within 35 days and maintain them in accordance with the law.

The structures are to be corrected or removed within 35 days from the date of publication of the notice and maintained in accordance with the law, reads the notice. The metropolis has stated that if the action as per the notice is not completed within the mentioned period, the metropolitan office will remove such structures.
