Following the move of dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli earlier on Sunday morning, people across the country have taken to the streets to express their dissatisfaction against the ‘undemocratic’ and ‘unconstitutional’ step taken by the country’s executive head.
People from various walks of life and even the cadres of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) have been staging demonstrations saying that the move by the PM Oli as a betrayal to the country and the people. “This is humiliation of people’s mandate to NCP,” reads the placard carried by a protestor at Matighar in Kathmandu.
Similar types of protests have been organized at various major cities of the country including Pokhara, Butwal, Biratangar and Nepalgunj.
