SAPTARI, July 23: Two people were killed after they were struck by a lightning coupled with thundershower in Saptari this morning.

Police confirmed the deaths of Harihar Chaudhary, 55 of Surunga municipality-3 and Shivasati Devi Pandit, 45, of Hanumannagar Kankalini municipality-11. Chaudhary was hit by thunderbolt as he was working on the paddy field and Pandit when he was returning home after offering meal for her husband working in the farm, District Police Office's Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhawesh Rimal said.
