KATHMANDU, May 2: At present, the country is influenced by western winds as well as local winds. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology of Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some parts of the hilly areas of the country this afternoon. 

Similarly, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at few places in Terai. Light to moderate rain will prevail over Koshi, Madhes and Bagmati provinces today. In the rest of the provinces, there will be normal to partial change in the weather.

Similarly, it will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim province tonight, while it will remain partly cloudy in the rest of the country.

According to the MFD, there is a possibility of temporary or light rain with thunder and lightning in a few places in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and in one or two places in the rest of the country.

Currently, there is a partial to normal change across the country. A few places in Sudurpaschim province and a few places in other hilly areas are receiving light rain.
