KATHMANDU, Sept 9: Most parts of the country are likely to witness light to moderate rain today, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).  

Currently, heavy rain is taking place in the Kathmandu Valley.  

Meteorologist at the DHM, Raju Pradhananga said that chances of rain are high as the low pressure line of monsoon is moving toward south from its usual position. 

The DHM said that there is a chance of rain at some places of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces in the next 24 hours. Likewise, heavy rain along with thunder is forecast at one or two places of Lumbini Province.  

The weather across the country will remain partly to generally cloudy with a chance of light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm and lightning at few places on Saturday and chances of heavy rain in one or two places of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.   

As per the latest details of the Meteorological Forecasting Division, today's minimum temperature of the Kathmandu Valley is recorded at 20.2 degrees Celsius and maximum temperature at 25.2 degrees Celsius.
