KATHMANDU, May 1: The country is currently experiencing the effects of westerly and local winds. In addition, there is a partial influence of moisture-laden winds entering from the Bay of Bengal, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).
Due to this influence, the weather across the country on Thursday morning was partly to generally cloudy. Light rainfall occurred in one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces in the morning. Aarughat in Gorkha recorded 19 millimeters of rainfall in the past hour.
There was scattered rain in Kathmandu as well on Thursday morning.

The DHM has forecast that the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the country during the day.
Similarly, the DHM has stated that there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in a few places in the hilly regions and at one or two places in other parts of the country. Light rain and snowfall are also expected in a few areas of the Himalayan region.
For Thursday night, the weather is expected to be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions, while the rest of the country will have mostly fair to partly cloudy conditions.
Similarly, there is a possibility of light rainfall with thunder and lightning at one or two places in the hilly regions during the night.
The DHM has also forecast a chance of light rain or snowfall at one or two places in the Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces during the night.
