Fifty-six-year old Amrit Lama is a rickshaw puller. Originally from Rammechhap, he currently lives in Ganeshthan, Basantapur. He keeps changing his temporary address as he lives in Kathmandu only for a month or two every year. He spends the rest of the year at his hometown doing agriculture.

He says the income from rickshaw pulling  is not bad and he earns enough to take a few groceries to Ramechhap whenever he returns. He spent Dashain in Kathmandu to earn some bucks and plans to leave for his hometown in Tihar. Amrit says he enjoys his life more in his hometown than in Kathmandu. “Finding a room to stay whenever I am in Kathmandu is the most difficult task for me,” he says.
