KATHMANDU, Dec 3: Businesspersons at Thamel area on Thursday staged a protest demanding resumption of nightlife in the famous tourist hub in the capital city Kathmandu.
With the outbreak of COVID-19 in Nepal, the government had closed all businesses around the nation starting from March 24.
Although other businesses around the major tourist hubs are now open, nightlife around Thamel area is yet to resume owing to the government’s restriction.
Workers and associates of businesses from Thamel wore traditional attire and used instruments as symbolic protest to draw the attention of the government. They held placards that read "Let us work", "We are starving" among others.
