KATHMANDU, Jan 9: CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the members of parliament (MPs) should be working in a way that the people feel proud of their elected MPs.
Addressing the first meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Monday, he asked the MPs to work according to public expectations. "We should learn from the past and move forward," he said.
Chairman Nepal expressed his belief that the prime minister will also follow the constitution. “Nationality, national independence should be elevated. The constitution and democratic republic will have to be protected," he said.
Chairman Nepal urged the parliamentarians to focus on the issues and problems of the people and try to solve them. "Problems such as population, increase in inflation, black market, artificial scarcity should be addressed," he said.
