KATHMANDU, Oct 10: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Pampha Bhusal has appealed to build homes from now onward so as to run all household appliances on electricity within the next one year.

She said, "Let's build structures where LP gas would not be necessary, let's use electric stoves. Let’s replace the gas bought by exchanging dollars.” Minister Bhusal further said that the lowest power consuming structure during load-shedding has been constructed. “Now let's build structures to accommodate electric stoves, let's make maximum use of our own country's hydropower.”

She assured everyone that the demand for electricity by the transport and industry sectors would be met in the coming days and urged people to use hydropower as energy everywhere. Stating that she has reduced the tariff rate after taking charge of the ministry with the objective of increasing domestic electricity consumption, Minister Bhusal said, such a decision has been taken especially for domestic customers. “Now electric stoves are cheaper than LP gas,” she further added.
