Leopard injures four people in Morang

MORANG, Feb 16: Four people, including two forest office employees, were injured when a leopard attacked them at Rajghat of Morang district this morning. 

Those sustaining injuries in the leopard attack are 62-year-old Tankalal Dhimal and 50-year-old Khusilal Dhimal of Rajghat-1, 35-year-old Hem Sagar Neupane and 46-year-old Bir Bahadur Katwal. Neupane and Katwal are the employees at the Sector Forest Office, Urlabari Mangalbare. 

They were injured when a leopard hiding inside the Sisau forest owned by one Nagendra Limbu of Athiyabari, Rajghat-1, attacked them at once, the Area Police Office, Urlabari said. 

Tankalal said the beast suddenly pounced on him while he was heading home to get a rope after ploughing the field at 8 am today. The leopard also attacked Khusilal who reached the place after hearing that a leopard had bitten Tankalal. They are undergoing treatment at a local hospital. 

The two forest office employees who reached the site to take the leopard under control also came under attack of the leopard. They have received minor injuries. 
Forest guards have been called and efforts are on to capture the leopard, it is stated. RSS
