JUMLA, Oct 23: At a time when the parliamentary and provincial elections are just around the corner, the left and right electoral alliances in Jumla district are busy pointing fingers at each other and playing the blame game, apparently in an attempt to win votes by shaping the public opinion in their favor.

The right alliance of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and left alliance of the main opposition CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) in the district are claiming victory in all three constituencies of the district.

In a corner meeting organized in Balmandir after candidacy nomination at the office of the Chief Returning Officer, NC candidate for parliamentary elections Devendra Shahi accused the left alliance of being against the spirit of the general public and claimed NC's victory in all the constituencies of the district. “As NC has led all the democratic movements of the country, we do not fear the left alliance. The Maoist Center's hands are stained with blood and the party will soon dissolve in the UML,” he argued. 

Meanwhile, left alliance candidate for parliamentary elections Gajendra Bahadur Mahat said the country is entering a new age. “Today's need is economic prosperity, which is possible only by the left alliance,” he said, adding that the left alliance is for the creation of opportunities in the fields of education, health and employment.
