KATHMANDU, Oct 10: Lawmakers have condemned the murder of Chairperson of Federation of Contractors Association of Nepal (FCAN), Sharad Kumar Gauchan and urged the government to book the guilty immediately.

In today's meeting of the Legislature-Parliament, they asked the Home Minister to form a commission immediately to carry out investigation into the case and inform the House in this regard.

FCAN Chair Gauchan was shot dead at Baneshwor by an unidentified group of Monday.

Demanding time with Speaker Onsari Gharti, Deepak Giri of the Nepali Congress said that killing of Gauchan, at a time when the elections of House of Representatives and State Assemblies are coming closer, has cast doubt of not holding the elections.

Janardan Dhakal of the CPN-UML drew government's attention to book the guilty, demanding immediate investigation into the case.

Similarly, Ram Narayan Bidari of the CPN (Maoist Centre) said that such incident taking place in daylight has indicated weakness in peace and security.

Likewise, Yogendra Chaudhary of the Nepal Democratic Forum and Prem Suwal of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, among others drew government's attention toward the incident of killing of Gauchan and asked the Home Minister to inform the House about the incident.
