KATHMANDU, Sept 6: Lawmaker Prem Suwal has been diagnosed with novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Suwal told Republica that he is in home isolation from Saturday after he tested positive for the virus. Earlier, his nasal swab sample was collected and sent for COVID-19 which came positive.
Suwal said that he has not developed any coronavirus-like symptoms as of today. He underwent PCR test for COVID-19 after his friend contracted COVID-19. Suwal has been avoiding public functions for the past two weeks.
Suwal is a member of the House of Representatives, the lower house of federal parliament, representing Nepal Workers Peasants Party. He is also the secretary of his party.
