BABIYACHAUR, June 4: The prohibitory order on operating 26 – seat capacity buses along the Beni – Jomson road has now become a thing of the past.

The District Transport Management Committee meeting held at the Beni's District Administration Office on Sunday took the decision to do away with the criteria which has remained in force for the past five years.

Chief District Officer Liladhar Adhikari said a decision was taken to send recommendations to the transport management offices across the country to provide permits for 27 – feet long buses.

On April 21, 2014 the then Transport Management Committee Dhaulagiri's meeting decided on banning buses with 26 seats in view of the risky road conditions.

Following the enforcement of the ban, travelers heading to Mustang from other places were required to park their vehicles in Beni and take the local transport entrepreneurs vehicles. After the dismantling of the syndicate like struck of the bus entrepreneurs, the new decision allows buses with 32 seats to ply the road.(RSS)
