KATHMANDU, June 20: The Embassy of India in Nepal, in collaboration with the Lumbini Development Trust (LDT), hosted a significant Yoga demonstration in Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This event marked the celebration of the International Day of Yoga under the theme "Yoga for Self and Society."
Chief minister of Lumbini Province, Jokh Bahadur Mahara, was the chief guest of the event. He expressed his gratitude to the Embassy of India for organizing the event and highlighted its importance in fostering India-Nepal cultural ties and promoting a healthy, balanced society.
Yoga – An Ancient Blessing
The event saw participation from senior LDT officials and over 900 Yoga enthusiasts from the region. Ambassador of India to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, emphasized the global recognition of Yoga and the symbolic significance of celebrating it in Lumbini. He announced ongoing annual collaborations with the LDT for future Yoga Day celebrations.
This demonstration is part of a series of events by the Embassy of India to commemorate the 10th International Day of Yoga across Nepal. A mega Yoga event will be held in Pokhara Stadium tomorrow.
