Landslide blocks Narayangadh-Mugling road stretch

KATHMANDU, July 2: Transportation along  Narayangadh-Mugling road has been hit after a big rock fell down onto the road on Monday morning.

Earlier, there was one-day traffic movement on the road after landsides at various places including Charkilo, Jalbire and Topekhola since 5:10 am.

After rock fell on the road two-way traffic has been blocked, leaving the passengers stranded.

Heavy rains continuing since Sunday night have wrecked havoc on various places in the country.

Meanwhile, Meteorological Forecasting Division  has issued a press bulletin warning of floods and landslides in various places in the country today.

Dozens of houses  in Nepalgunj have been inundated due to heavy rains.

New Road, Sahid Setu BK Chowk, Gharbari have been waterlogged.  According to Krishna Prasad Shrestha, a local of New Road and central member of FNCCI, as many as 45 shops have been inundated.

Similarly, the landslide is also reported to have  occurred at Siddhababa in Palpa district.
