Landslide blocks Mahakali Highway

BAITADAI, June 25: The Mahakali Highway has been blocked due to a landslide. The road has been blocked by the landslide that occurred at Dharamghar of Surnaya Rural Municipality-3 along the Satbanjha-Gokuleshwar section of the highway.

Police Inspector Darshan Khadka said that the landslide triggered by incessant rains for the past few days has blocked the highway since 9AM today. 

Following the traffic disruption, over 20 vehicles are stuck midway. Passengers are left stranded. Until the filing of this report, efforts were on to clear the landslide debris and resume the traffic. It’s the fourth time that a landslide has disrupted the highway in a week.
