Landslide blocks Karnali Highway

KALIKOT, June 13: Karnali Highway has been blocked due to landslides triggered by  heavy rainfalls on Tuesday night.

KALIKOT, June 13: Karnali Highway has been blocked due to landslides triggered by  heavy rainfalls on Tuesday night.


The road was blocked after landslides occurred in the Dahi River.

Road blockade has hit the passengers travelling from and to Surkhet, Nepalgunj, Kalikot, Jumla since this morning. 


DSP Subash Chandra Bohora of District Police Office, Kalikot said," Dozer cannot remove the landslide. We are waiting for an excavator. So the removal of the debris is getting delayed". DSP Bohora said, "Attempts are being made to clear the road in one and a half hours".


The locals have demanded to ease the travel by opening the road promptly.


Dipendra Upadhyaya of Jumla, Kankasundari-5, says, "The travelers have to face obstruction time to time due to negligence on the part of the government".
