KATHMANDU, March 25: The land acquisition process for the construction of Marsyangdi Corridor 220 KV transmission line has begun.
The project is going to acquire land in Manang's Naso Rural Municipality 4 and 9. The land in the name of 22 people is also to be acquired.
Revised interest rate corridor system introduced
This transmission line is going to be built to link the electricity that is being produced from the Marsyangdi River and its tributaries and that may be produced in the future into the national transmission grid.
About 110 km of 220 kV transmission line from Dharapani in Manang to Anptari in Chitwan is under construction by Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and for that purpose, the land is to be acquired.
The District Administration Office, Chame, Manang has issued a notice and requested the concerned persons to claim the compensation for the houses within 15 days.
