Lamichhane’s State Affairs Committee membership suspended

The Federal Parliament Secretariat on Monday suspended Lamichhane from his position of member of the House of Representatives after a case was registered on charges of cooperative fraud as well as organized crime and money laundering against him.

KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has been suspended from his position as a member of the State Affairs Committee.


The Federal Parliament Secretariat on Monday suspended Lamichhane from his position of member of the House of Representatives after a case was registered on charges of cooperative fraud as well as organized crime and money laundering against him.

In Tuesday's meeting, Ramhari Khatiwada, chairman of the State Affairs Committee, said that Lamichhane is no longer a member of the HoR, and is suspended from the State Affairs Committee.


Lamichhane was arrested from the RSP’s central office in Banasthali, Kathmandu, on October 18.
