LALITPUR, Oct 15: Lalitpur District alone has recorded 48 deaths linked with novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as of Thursday, according to the data maintained by the District Public Health Office, Lalitpur.

Chief of District Public Health Office, Khageshwar Gelal, said that the district has witnessed a steep rise in the number of coronavirus cases.

There are currently 2,507 active COVID-19 cases in the district, according to him. As of today, 2,603 persons who had earlier tested positive for the virus have recovered and returned home.

There are currently 1,588 active cases of coronavirus in Lalitpur Metropolitan City alone. A total of 1,731 persons who earlier tested positive for the virus have been recovered. The metropolis has recorded 27 deaths linked to COVID-19.

The number of active cases of coronavirus in Godavari Municipality has reached 194. The municipality has witnessed five deaths linked to COVID-19 as of today. 199 persons have been recovered after contracting virus.

Mahalaxmi Municipality has 347 active cases of coronavirus. Three people have died of COVID-19 as of today in the municipality. The municipality’s Mayor Rameshwor Shrestha was diagnosed with virus and recovered a few weeks ago. 256 COVID-19 patients have been recovered in the municipality as of today.
