CHITWAN, Sept 15: The 6th national lakhe dance competition is to be held in Narayangadh on coming September 19 and 20.
A total of 40 dance groups are competing in the event to be organized by the Folk Culture Preservation and National Lakhe Dance Academy. Groups from Ilam in the east to Dadeldhura in west are taking part in the competing, the Academy Chair Nirjal Lal Shrestha said.
The first, second and third group of the competition will win a cash prize of Rs. 75,000, Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 25,000 respectively.
The event is being held every year with the objective of preserving the ancient dance form, while also informing the newer generation about it, the Academy has said. RSS
