KATHMANDU, Nov 14: Senior painter Hemu Rai of Darjeeling is to be honored with the Lain Singh Bangdel Memorial Award-2016. 

The annual general meeting of the Lain Singh Bangdel Literary Art Foundation, Kolkata, took the decision to this effect. 

The award carries a purse of Rs 10,000. It is presented to those litterateurs for their special contribution to art and literature sector for three years. 

The award will be presented in Kolkata on December 24. Similarly, Maniram Bhitrikoti will be honored for his contribution to Nepali music in Kolkata, said Foundation General Secretary, Bikas Karki. RSS
