LAHAN, Aug 7: After witnessing community level COVID-19 transmission, the local government has decided to impose lockdown orders in Lahan Municipality from Friday evening.
A decision to this effect was made to curb the further spread of the virus, according to the Municipal Office.
“A man from Lahan-8, who had travelled to Birgunj tested positive for COVID-19 earlier. And in order to ease the contact tracing and increase the scope of testing, the Municipality will go into Lockdown,” said mayor of the municipality, Muni Sah Sudi.

People in the region are gripped with the fear of community transmission of the disease.
During the lockdown period, the markets will be permitted to operate from 8 to 11 am in the morning to buy daily essentials and only the vehicles with the permission of the government will be allowed to ply the roads. However, the section of the East-West highway in the municipality will remain open.
