KATHMANDU, May 16: Nepal Police Headquarters has closed the Kulekhani-Kalanki-Humane section of the Kathmandu-Hetauda road for 19 days starting today, Friday, to carry out repair work. Authorities have urged all drivers to use alternative routes during this period.
Nepal Police spokesperson and Senior Superintendent of Police Ramesh Thapa said the police took the decision to shut down the road in coordination with the local administration. He explained that they issued the public notice to help the public avoid inconvenience.

The public notice states that officials will completely halt vehicular movement along the Kulekhani-Kalanki-Humane section, located in Indrasarowar Rural Municipality of Makwanpur district, from May 16 to June 3 to carry out blacktopping work.
Authorities urge use of alternative routes
In Thursday's public notice, Nepal Police advised, "Vehicles travelling between Hetauda and Kathmandu, or vice versa, should use alternative routes such as the Kanti Highway or the Kulekhani-Sisneri-Pharping road."
Authorities have coordinated with the local administration and municipal bodies to enforce a complete traffic halt during the road construction period.
