BUTWAL Feb 17: The left alliance of the CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Centre) has registered the common candidacy of Krishni Tharu for the post of Deputy Speaker of Province 5. 

Her candidacy was proposed by the UML chief whip Bhumishwor Dhakal and seconded by the Maoist Centre chief whip Dadhi Ram Neupane. 

The election of the Deputy Speaker of the province is set for February 18 and the State Assembly (SA) Secretariat had set today (from 10 am to 2 pm) as the deadline for registering candidacy for the position. 

Tharu was elected the SA member representing the UML in the recently held elections to the State Assembly. 

Likewise, the main opposition Nepali Congress is also preparing to field SA member Rama Aryal for the same post of Deputy Speaker of the province, said the NC.
