KATHMANDU, Jan 17: One of the two chairmen of the Dahal-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who leads the other rival faction of the NCP after the vertical split in the party following the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR), is merely a leader of a small group like Madan Bhandari Foundation.

As Oli did not make any contribution to the unification of the erstwhile Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) and Communist Party of Nepal- Unified Marxist and Leninist (CPN-UML) to NCP, he is oriented toward a meager faction.

During his address at a program in Bardiya on Sunday, Nepal dubbed PM Oli as a self-destructive person like Dhundhukari, an evil character in the Hindu mythology.

He also expressed his regret for covering up the bad deeds by Oli. “We always backed Oli despite his silly acts. He [Oli] ultimately caused a disaster.”

On the occasion, he insisted that the whole country has been dragged into a mess due to the whimsical activities of PM Oli, ignoring people’s troubles.

According to Nepal, Oli has murdered the House of Representatives (HoR) –the 275-member lower house of parliament — through ‘unconstitutional’ dissolution on December 20 last year.

Also addressing the function, another leader of the faction and former Energy Minister, Barsha Man Pun said that Oli is an ‘illegitimate’ prime minister.

The program was also addressed by Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Yubraj Gyawali, Purna Kumari Subedi, Onsari Gharti among others who also expressed their strong exceptions to the December 20 dissolution of parliament. The other chairman of the faction, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who was also scheduled to address the program, however, was not present.
