BIRATNAGAR, June 6: The policies and programs for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024/25 introduced by the Koshi Province government have been passed by the province assembly.
Speaker Ambar Bahadur Bista said that the proposal to pass the policies and programs put forward by Chief Minister (CM) Hikmat Kumar Karki was passed unanimously in the provincial assembly meeting on Thursday.
In the provincial assembly meeting on June 3, Province Chief Parshuram Khapung presented the policies and programs of the provincial government. After the discussion on the policies and programs, CM Karki answered the questions raised by the assembly members in the meeting on Thursday.
Koshi Province Assembly passes finance bill
Answering the questions raised by the provincial assembly members, CM Karki said that the lack of political instability has hindered the development of the province. He said that the government has brought the policies and programs by giving priority to agriculture and tourism.
Assembly members Rajan Kiranti and Nirmala Limbu, among others who had filed amendment proposals on the policies and programs, withdrew the amendment proposals after CM Karki promised to address the issues raised through the budget.
The province assembly unanimously passed the proposal put forward by CM Karki that the government's policy and programs presented by Province Chief Parshuram Khapung in the province assembly on June 3 be passed.
With the passage of the policy and programs of the provincial government, the way has been opened for the Koshi Province Government to bring the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2024/25. There is a provision that the provinces should bring the budget by June 15.
Speaker Bista informed the meeting of the provincial assembly that the upcoming meeting of the Koshi Province Assembly has been scheduled for June 15.
