KATHMANDU, April 30: Prerana Koirala and Ane Mathema have advanced into the women’s singles quarterfinals of the ongoing sixth Citizens Bank Open Tennis Tournament on Sunday. 


In the category, Koirala beat Saloni Tamang 6-2, 6-0, while Mathema defeated Bhagwati BK 6-4, 6-2 to reach the last eight.

Likewise, in men’s singles, Jitendra Pariyar thrashed Shivam Bikram Thapa 6-0, 6-0, Ranjan Shrestha overcame Kumar GC 6-0, 6-0, Pradeep Khadka saw off Manoj Maharjan 6-0, 6-0, Kamal Bhandari thumped Anjan Thing 6-2, 6-1, Nabin Magar easily defeated Nishan Shrestha 6-0, 6-0 and Samyak Bhushan Bajracharya struggled to beat Pranjal Kayastha 7-6, 4-6, 6-4. They all reached the quarters. 


A total of 135 players in 11 different categories are taking part in the tournament which is being played at the National Sports Council (NSC) and the Army’s Officer Club’s Court.
