KATHMANDU,

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has urged the entertainment sector including cinema halls to pay business and entertainment tax.

The metropolis has issued a notice on the payment of taxes for cinema halls, casinos, video houses, concerts, musical evenings, dance bars and nightclubs, cultural exhibition halls, theaters, fun parks, water gardens, kindergartens, futsals, zumba, massage and spas, swimming pools and parks established under the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

The KMC has also requested these businesses to register and renew the business only after checking the proof of payment of entertainment tax to the Inland Revenue Department.

Earlier, the KMC requested the film halls to pay taxes.

The cinema halls have to pay five percent entertainment tax from the amount collected from ticket sales.
