KMC to prohibit roadside parking in New Road area

KATHMANDU, Jan 23: Kathmandu Municipal Corporation (KMC) is going to ban vehicle parking on blacktopped roads in the New Road area from Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, Jan 23: Kathmandu Municipal Corporation (KMC) is going to ban vehicle parking on blacktopped roads in the New Road area from Tuesday. 


As an alternative to the current parking facility, the KMC has said that it will provide free parking facilities at Kathmandu Tower. Chief of KMC Municipal Police Rajunath Pandey shared that 300 four-wheelers and 700 two-wheelers can be parked at Kathmandu Tower. The new provision is expected to ease traffic in the area.

He said that parking will be prohibited on blacktopped roads in and around Dharmapath, Indrachowk, Khichapokhari, Mahaboudha, and around Bir Hospital. Earlier, a similar prohibition in vehicle parking was imposed by the KMC in the Jhonche area.
